Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Arthur Hemmenway
Pastor Arthur Hemmenway leads The Apostolic Church of the Remnant, and he is the voice many of our people hear first on a Sunday afternoon or a Thursday evening.
Under his leadership, we gather for worship, prayer, and messages that aim to meet people where they are. He brings the Word to our services and shares his heart for the church through the monthly Church Journal, and he keeps our congregation connected through our Facebook page, so the conversation continues between Sundays and Thursdays.
We are a church that serves Singer and the Oretta Community, and we would love for you to meet Pastor Hemmenway in person. Join us for a Sunday service at 2:00 pm or a Thursday service at 6:00 pm at 289 North St, Singer, LA 70660, and see for yourself what our church family is about.
Our Mission
To serve as a welcoming God connection that enriches faith, strengthens believers, and offers compassionate worship and life-changing messages to the Singer and Oretta Community.
Every Sunday at 2:00 pm and Thursday at 6:00 pm, we open our doors at 289 North St to neighbors across Singer and the Oretta Community.
What We Believe and How We Worship
The Apostolic Church of the Remnant is part of the Apostolic and Pentecostal tradition, a family of churches that place a high value on prayer, on the teaching of the Bible, and on worship that comes from the heart. If you are new to that language, you do not need to know any of it before you walk through our doors. What we care about is simple: that people come to know God personally and leave a little closer to Him than when they arrived.
In practice, that means our services at 289 North St in the Oretta Community are built around worship that is sung and prayed with feeling, followed by a message from Pastor Arthur Hemmenway drawn from Scripture. Prayer is not a formality here. It is part of how we gather on Sundays at 2:00 pm and Thursdays at 6:00 pm, and it is the reason our prayer services exist for anyone carrying a need. Our desire is for every person, whether they have walked with God for decades or are just beginning, to feel that the door is open and that they belong.
A place where people can experience God for themselves.
If you have questions about what we believe or how a service works, we would be glad to hear them. Call (337) 317-0171 or send a message through Messenger, and you can also read more on our Visit & FAQ page before you come. Come as you are, and ask us anything.
